The HybridHeart project will be carried out by an interdisciplinary group of academic researchers and high-tech SMEs, with experience in cardiac surgery, TE, soft robotics and engineering.
The consortium aims to develop the Hybrid Heart, which can completely replace a patient’s heart in a procedure similar to a heart transplant, to provide a cure for heart failure patients.
Innovative treatment
The Holland Hybrid Heart integrates soft robotics and tissue engineering to create a biocompatible artificial heart, revolutionizing severe heart failure treatment.
Improved outcomes
The Holland Hybrid Heart aims to significantly enhance life expectancy and quality of life, outperforming existing mechanical support devices and heart transplants.
Reduced donor dependency
Innovative treatment
Involving over 15 Dutch institutions, the Holland Hybrid Heart project combines expertise from cardiology, biomedical engineering, and materials science to develop and refine this innovative artificial heart.
Join the Holland Hybrid Heart project. Work with top Dutch experts on a biocompatible artificial heart, using advanced robotics and tissue engineering. Improve patient outcomes and address donor heart shortages. Shape the future of cardiovascular medicine.
